Please be advised that Keats Drive features a dedicated bike lane, which coincides with the location of the bus loop. As a result, parents are kindly requested not to obstruct the bike lane. For the safety and convenience of all, please continue to use the Panther Trail entrance when picking up or dropping off your child from school.
What to Do If/When My Student Has a Concern in the Classroom?
At ARS, we are dedicated to serving people and understand that differences of opinion, misunderstandings, and communication issues may arise. When such situations occur, it is important to address them thoughtfully and effectively. Please follow these steps to resolve any concerns or misunderstandings:

STEP 1: As often as possible, we want our students to practice advocating for themselves. The first step in addressing a concern is to encourage your student to speak with their teacher. Most problems can be resolved at this level and it is great practice for students to become advocates in their own lives.
STEP 2: If you and your student feel there is still an issue, please email your teacher directly. You can find their contact information in the AISD Directory or by emailing through the Parent Portal Frontline Self-Service.
STEP 3: The best next step is for the student or their parent to reach out to their support team of AP and/or counselor to help resolve the problem
If your student has a medical condition that requires medication(s) to be kept and/or administered on campus, please refer to the AISD Health Services & Nursing Website for the required forms. Please note that the Austin ISD Request to Administer Medication at School and a doctor's order are both required for all medications, including over-the counter medications (e.g. Advil, Tylenol, Midol, etc.). The website also has specific doctor's order forms for food allergies/anaphylaxis, asthma, seizure, and diabetes, which will require a physician's signature.
Per AISD policy, no medication will be received by the health team without all the required forms. I recommend having all the forms completed as soon as possible to ensure a smooth hand-off during the first week of school.
Please feel free to contact the ARS nurse at 512-414-3240 if you have any questions or concerns.
