Volunteers Needed

May 8th, 2017 · Dad's Club

TRANSITION CAMP PICNIC (Thursday, June 8th) : Transition Camp for new students and the class of 2024 is coming up soon. Transition camp is a fun week for our new ARS Stars, where they learn about our unique school and build relationships with their new sisters. A yearly tradition is the family picnic to celebrate the end of camp week with Dad’s Club volunteers working the grills. This year we expect about 400 students, family members, volunteers and staff to attend.

>> New ARS parents – If you are planning to attend the picnic on Thursday please consider volunteering for an hour or two. You will still have time to enjoy the activities <<

We need several volunteers on Thursday, June 8th from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM to help prepare and serve food at the Ann Richards School. No experience required, all supplies will be provided, flexible times available. All you have to do is show up, help get everyone fed, enjoy the picnic and be a hero for the day.

We also need an experienced grilling ARS dad Leader who can coordinate the grilling event with ARS Teachers and lead for the Dad’s Club. Please contact Mark directly for more information (, detailed instructions available for this leadership role. If you’ve helped at a Dad’s @ the Grill event before, you know that leading an event does require a day or two of effort beforehand to prepare. The rewarding part is helping out our hard working Teachers and Staff (who are very grateful but can’t change your daughter’s grades) and the opportunity to engage with other ARS family members.

Please provide your input for the future of our school

October 12th, 2016 · Administrator

AISD is working to update the FMP (Facility Master Plan) and it is critical that we voice and advocate our needs for ARS campus improvements. Items like the track, soccer fields, band facilities, fine arts facilities and more all need attention, along with the basic maintenance and upgrades that have long been neglected.

Your input is important to ensure our campus is equitably represented as AISD works to develop  “A long-range, comprehensive FMP outlines the current status and future use of district facilities. It will guide the development of future capital improvements and support planning for future bond elections.“.

Please visit AISD’s website for more information and provide your input through the survey >>
