Our fall book fair is right around the corner and we need a few (okay, several) great parents to help out. This year we are beginning the fair on Friday, September 12th and ending on Thursday, September 18th to avoid conflict with our Great Day of Service. Family night coincides with our Back to School on the 17th, so make sure to spread the word.
We are setting a goal of $1300 in profit to support book clubs and other library activities, and we need your help to pull it off. If you can help out, please sign up using the instructions below.

Please come and join the PTSA General Meeting on Tuesday 4/8 from 6-7 p.m. in the ARS cafeteria. We have an outstanding and informative agenda lined out. Not only will we be voting on PTSA officers for 2014/2015 (see below), but there be updates on PTSA events, the current budget, and the new UIL 6A designation for extracurricular activities. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Katherine Coffee, a U.T. graduate student, who will provide information regarding Resiliency and Mental Health and lead a YOGA demonstration. In addition, we plan to spotlight members of the ARS dance team who will perform a number.
Just a reminder, the ARS advisory with the largest number in attendance (students and parents) will win a prize, courtesy of the PTSA.
See you on Tuesday!

Help make the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders’ Silent Auction Fundraiser a success!
Gift Basket Donations Needed
The silent auction will be held in conjunction with the Enviro-Fair on Friday, April 11. We are in need of merchandise donations for gift baskets (grade-level themes for the baskets are below).
Proceeds from the silent auction go to the PTSA scholarship fund. Each year the PTSA awards a scholarship (which is renewable for four years!) to a graduating senior who has been active in PTSA activities during high school. Your tax-deductible contribution will help us grow this fund. Companies that donate will have their names featured on our PTSA website.
Donations for the gift baskets will be accepted in the front office from Friday, March 28 until Monday, April 7th. Please indicate on each item your daughter’s name, grade and the cost of the item donated (used to itemize the bid sheets).
Basket Themes for the 2014 Silent Auction Fundraiser are:
6th – Gift Cards
7th – University of Texas
8th – Spa Day
9th – Let’s make Tamales
10th – Dorm Room Ready
11th – The Best Gardner
12th – Starbuck’s anyone?
If you know of others who may be willing to donate, please pass this information along or contact Tina Weaver email@example.com, Sandra Schell firstname.lastname@example.org, Monica Carson email@example.com, Sarah Jeansonne firstname.lastname@example.org or Ivri Messinger Ivrimark@gmail.com

THANK YOU from the ARS PTSA for helping support OUR SCHOOL and OUR DAUGHTERS as we work together to prepare the young women leaders of tomorrow. The ARS PTSA Scholarship is meant to help ARS graduates—many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college—achieve their dreams. We need and appreciate your support.
The PTSA needs you!
The PTSA slate of officers for next year (2014/2015) is coming together nicely. However, at this time, we do not have anyone to elect for the position of Treasurer. We are in need of a person (or persons) to assume this role. The Treasurer is the most important position of the PTSA and is vital to the success of the organization. Charlie Foreman has served in this role for the last two years, and per the by-laws, cannot continue to serve. He is more than willing to train, assist, etc. as needed.
If you have experience as a treasurer, experience in bookkeeping, etc. and can help out, please contact me. If you want to know more details about what exactly the job entails, please contact Charlie Foreman at Treasurer@arsptsa.org
Thank you for your consideration,
Suzy Searcy – ARS PTSA President
